I really quite
like the Guide. As a fairly new teacher, and not having a music degree,
this is very helpful.

I can tell that
you put a good bit of work into this guide. All the information is helpful:
the key signature, the comments on difficulty, etc.

Teacher's Guide to Intermediate
Classical Piano Repertoire
Students
that have mastered basic piano technique are ready to reap the rich
rewards of true piano literature. After playing week after week from
one of the many step-by-step beginning piano books, a vast repertoire
opens up to them, but where do they start?
Obviously, the teacher should select easier pieces first,
and find different styles and technical challenges to help the student
continue to develop their skill. Here at Musical Advantage we have spent
numerous hours developing a guide that assists the teacher in accomplishing
this difficult task.
Our exclusive "Guide to Intermediate Classical
Piano Literature" contains the following:
- Over 220 piano pieces from the Baroque period
through the 20th century.
- Each piece is rated with a level of difficulty (1-
6), with (1) being the lowest or "very easy" for an intermediate
pianist and (6) being quite difficult. The guide is broken down into
six separate tables representing each difficulty level.
- Each piece contains comments on tempo and key signature,
followed by additional comments on technical and artistic aspects
of the piece. For ease of use, each difficulty level contains a guide
that provides a more detailed description of our comments.
- Selected pieces are recommended for student recitals
or events.
- If you don't already have the sheet music for a
piece from our guide, we make it easy to purchase. Each piece lists
the Source and Title along with a direct link to the piece at a major
Online Sheet Music Store where you can purchase the selection.
- Our Guide is easy to use and doesn't require any
lengthy download or PC installation. It's web-based and printer friendly
so you can either view it on-line, save it to your PC for off-line
viewing, and/or print it out.
Intermediate
students are in a position to really enjoy some great music "under
their fingers". Hearing all of that hard work paying off in the
sounds of a Chopin Prelude or Beethoven Sonatina really makes it worth
the effort - for the teacher as well!
